ISPCEM-2016

2016 International Symposium on Plasmas for Catalyses and Energy Materials (ISPCEM-2016) was successfully held in Tianjin University from June 29 to July 2, 2016. 93 scientists from China, USA, UK, Japan, South Korea, Belgium and Singapore attended the symposium. The speakers include Prof. Jingguang Chen, Prof. Wei Chu, Prof. Aimin Zhu, Prof. Daiqi Ye, Prof. Xin Tu, Prof. Su Chen, Prof. Xiang Wang, Prof. Yanhui Yang, Prof. Fangli Yuan, Prof. Xiuling Zhang, Prof. ShuangYin Wang, Prof. Kostya (Ken) Ostrikov, Prof. Erik Neyts, Prof. Masaru Hori, Prof. Bill Graham, Prof. Tomohiro Nozaki and Prof. David B. Go. The symposium announced Prof. Erik Neyts to be the winner of B. Eliasson Award. A special issue will be published in Topics in Catalysis, 2017, with Profs. Zhoujun Wang, Ben Jang and Chang-Jun Liu as the guest editors.

ISPCEM-2014

2014 International Symposium on Plasmas for Catalyses and Energy Materials (ISPCEM-2014) was successfully held in Tianjin University from Sept. 13 to 16, 2014. 72 scientists from China, USA, UK, Netherland, Japan, South Korea,Switzerland, India and Belgium attended the symposium, including Prof.JieshanQiu, Prof.Mohan Sankaran, Prof. Erik Neyts, Prof. Young Sun Mok, Prof. AartWillem Kleijn, Dr. Hyun-Ha Kim, Dr. Baldur Eliasson, Prof. J Christopher Whitehead, Dr. Kenji Ishikawa, Prof. Wei Chu, Prof. Yi Cheng, Prof. Xinhui Xing, Prof. Xiaoxun Ma and Prof. M.C.M. van de Sanden. The plasma applications in the catalyst preparation, catalytic reactions and energy materials have been extensively discussed during the symposium. There were several presentations on the study of mechanisms in the molecular level. Utilization of green house gases, global warming, solar energy, exhaust gas treatment and hydrogen energywere the key topics of the symposium. Future development has also been discussed. The symposium will be very helpful for the future studies and sustainable development of plasmas for catalyses and energy materials. A special issue was published in Catalysis Today (V.256, 2015) with Profs. Tomohiro Nozaki, Ken Ostrikov, Mohan Sankaran, Erik Neyts and Chang-Jun Liu as the guest editors.
